Description

This is a cottage, originally built as a tollhouse around 1800. It is constructed from red sandstone and trap rubble, with trap quoins. The roof is thatched, shaped like a pyramid with an ogee profile and a pointed apex. An external stone stack is located on the right-hand side of the building, featuring a brick shaft. The cottage is two storeys high. The front facade has a symmetrical two-window arrangement. All four windows are Gothic in style, with pointed, two-light frames incorporating Y-tracery and timber casements. Above the central doorway is a rounded feature displaying foliage relief. A 20th-century thatched stone porch has been added.
