Description
The Croft is a house dating to around 1830, although parts may be older. The walls are constructed of plastered cob, stone rubble, and brick, with brick stacks and plastered chimney shafts, and are covered by a thatched roof with slate on the outshots. Facing south-west, the house originally had a two-room plan with a central staircase and end stacks. Service outshots at the rear are likely original. The house has two storeys and a symmetrical three-window front featuring 20th-century mullion-and-upper-transom casements with diamond-pane leaded glass. The original central entrance has a six-panel door, now partly glazed, set within a fluted doorcase. A later open porch with a hipped thatched roof has been added. The roof is hipped at each end. Internally, much of the original joinery detail remains.
