Description
This milestone, located about 25 meters north of Matford Hill, dates from the early 19th century and is made of granite. It features a segmental arched base topped with a granite post. The base is inscribed with "178 (?numbers unclear) miles to London." The east face of the post indicates "10 miles to Dawlish" and "2 miles to Exeter," while the west face shows "2 miles to Exeter" and "10 miles to Dawlish."
