Description

The Former Rectory is a building dating back to 1609, which was refronted by the Reverend William Ellicombe in 1780 and restored in 1880. The exterior is rendered and painted, featuring two storeys and five sash windows. It has an original porch with a three-light mullioned oriel above and a twelve-panelled oak door set in a moulded frame. The building includes a pediment at the eaves level, a modillion cornice, and a slate roof. Inside, the kitchen ceiling, which was originally the parlour, is dated 1627. The arms of the patron, the Earl of Bath, are displayed over the chimney piece, along with Bouchier Knots.
