Description

This is an early 19th-century house located on Chudleigh Road in Alphington. The exterior is painted Flemish bond brick with a section of slate-hanging on the left return; it has a slate roof with gabled ends and a brick chimney stack topped with a round chimney pot. The house is situated behind a railed area and offers access to the basement.

The building is one room wide and double in depth, with rooms heated by a chimney stack on the left and the entrance on the right. It has three storeys plus a basement. The front elevation is regular, with two bays. Deep eaves and a platband run along the first floor. Decorative iron railings with spear finials enclose a gateway, providing access to basement steps on the left and flanking steps leading to the front door on the right. A 20th-century front door replaces the original, with a three-pane overlight above. A 20th-century bow window, fitted with a three-light casement window featuring small panes and high transoms, occupies the ground floor. The first and second floor windows are twelve-pane hornless sash windows. A two-light window is found in the basement.

The interior of the house has not been inspected.
