Description

The Double Locks Inn is a building from the 17th or 18th century that shows Dutch influence, likely constructed when Dutch engineers were working on the canal in the late 17th century. It is a square house made of red brick and features four chimneys, one at each corner. The sash windows appear to have been added later, as the original openings are partly filled in and have glazing bars. There is a bay window on the first floor that overlooks the canal. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with slate, with a dormer on each face.
