Description
Gate piers and gate located approximately 150 metres east of Ratcliffe, dating from around 1830. The structure is made of wrought iron and serves as the entrance to the main drive leading to Ratcliffe. The gate piers are round-headed and feature a wrought iron acanthus motif above ovals that are attached to the stiles by small circles. The original gate includes horizontal rails that are supported by curving struts. A cast boss is present in the centre vertical. The top rail curves downwards, while the end stiles rise above and bend over to form scrolls.
