Description

The Porburry headstone, located approximately 16 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Michael in Otterton, is a Grade II listed structure from the mid-18th century. This headstone is made of limestone and features an upright slab that stands about 200mm high, topped with a shaped head. The front of the headstone is inscribed with bold Roman serif lettering in both upper and lower case, commemorating the death of John Porburry, although the date of death is not legible.
