Description

Combe Farmhouse, including an outbuilding immediately to the south-west, is a farmhouse dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gabled ends. The building has two storeys and a range of three to four windows, which are four-light casements with leaded panes. There is a plank door leading to a cross passage located to the left of the centre. The farmhouse has rendered chimney stacks at both gable ends and in the centre, as well as a staircase projection at the rear. At the lower (west) end, there is a small modern two-storey extension made of stone rubble, which has a lower slate roof.

Inside, the farmhouse contains one jointed cruck truss and an inserted floor with chamfered cross beams. There is a fireplace with moulded stone jambs, and it is said that there is a plank and muntin screen at the lower side of the cross passage.

The outbuilding, which is located immediately to the south-west of the farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century and is also made of stone rubble. It is positioned at right angles to the road and the house, featuring a slate roof with gabled ends. The east side of the outbuilding has a window facing the garden, while the west side, which faces the farmyard, has three small pig sty openings with segmental brick arches.
