Description
Higher Coombe Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse that has been altered around 1990 and is now used as a house. It is constructed of limewashed cob and possibly rubblestone, topped with a thatched roof featuring an external stack on the right gable end. The building originally had a three-room plan and stands two storeys tall with attics, displaying a four-window range. There are four 20th-century dormers, along with 20th-century windows and a door. A 20th-century hipped thatched porch is also present. On the left side of the building, there is a small attic window and a 18th-century planked door located to the left of the base of the stack. The farmhouse is complemented by approximately 18 meters of rubblestone wall in front, which leads up to gate piers topped with 20th-century caps, and features a 19th-century cast-iron gate adorned with ornamental spiked finials.
