Description
Lower Coombe Cottage is a 17th-century house located in Teignmouth. It features painted stucco and a thatched roof with stacks at the gable ends. The building has a two-unit central entry plan with end stacks and stands two storeys high, displaying a three-window range. The windows and door are from the 20th century.
Inside, to the left of the passage, there is a plank-and-muntin screen and a stud wall. The room on the right includes a chamfered crossbeam with stepped ogee stops and an open fire with a massive oak lintel. The room on the left, which is said to have been a former stable, features a 19th-century cast-iron fireplace. The upper floors have not been inspected.
