Description
Rustic Cottage and Corner House is an early 19th-century house positioned at right angles to the road, featuring a circa 17th-century rear wing. The building is constructed of stone rubble and has a slate roof with stone coping at the gable ends. It is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. The small sash windows lack glazing bars and are set under flat stone arches with keystones. The central doorway is round arched, also with a keystone, and has a modern glazed door. A modern flat roof dormer is present. There are brick chimney stacks over the gable end facing the street, and a pointed arch attic window. The 17th-century wing at the rear, which faces Church Street, is also made of stone rubble and has a tiled roof with a half hipped end. This wing features a two-storey splayed bay window with wooden mullion windows and a moulded stone dripmould, as well as an external stone chimney stack with set-offs.
