Description

This is a circa 1820 three-story building, originally occupied by “French’s.” The front facade is rendered with visible horizontal coursing. It features a moulded cornice and a parapet with coping. The upper floors have a serpentine effect created by two symmetrical, shallow splayed bows. There are two windows, one in each bow, with slightly bowed sash windows retaining their original glazing bars, set within flush architrave frames. The ground floor retains a mid-19th century frieze and cornice from the original shop front, but the remainder of the ground floor has been modernized. The building is part of a group that includes premises formerly occupied by "Fields" (a menswear shop), "Boots," and "Trump Stores."
