Description
The Black Horse Public House is a building located on Fore Street, dating from 1633. It features a late 18th century to early 19th century stucco façade and stands three storeys tall with a plinth. The building has a coved frieze and a moulded eaves cornice, topped by a low pitch gable end slate roof. The front has a symmetrical arrangement of three windows, which are sash windows set in wide frames with intact glazing bars. The ground floor windows have been altered and enlarged. The central entrance is framed by an architrave doorcase with a pediment. At the rear, which faces Old Fore Street, the building is two storeys high and also stuccoed, featuring three flush framed sash windows with intact glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor includes a plate glass window, a two-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, and large double doors that provide access to the yard.
