Description
Brook Farm Cottage and cartshed is a pair of cottages, now combined into one, dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The building is constructed from rubble stone and features a slate roof with coped gables and a stack at the east end. The original cottage, located on the right, is double fronted and has two cyma-moulded 2-light flush mullion windows with dripstones on each floor. There is a central door with a timber lintel. The upper windows have leaded fixed lights, while the other windows are casements. The left side of the building is an earlier 19th-century one-window range cottage, which has casements set in segmental head surrounds with keystones, and a similar segmental head above the door. Attached to the east is an earlier 19th-century tall 4-bay cart-shed, supported by square piers and also covered with a slate roof.
