Description

Nos 73 and 75 Townend is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick noggings, and some wattle and daub is present in the north gable end. The building has a thatched roof and is a single storey with an attic, consisting of three bays. There is a framed rear wing attached to No 73 on the left. The layout follows a lobby entry plan, with the original entrance at the rear, which has been altered to gable entrances. The framing consists of three panels high with ogee corner braces. The windows are 20th-century paned casements, and the thatch extends over two dormers. The interior has not been seen, but there is a staircase in a brick enclosure attached to the rear.
