Description

The Old Forge is a house dating from the 17th and 19th centuries. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick noggings and a thatched roof, with an extension in colourwashed brick and a slate roof. The building has two storeys, with the original structure comprising one and a half bays, including a gable lobby entry in the half bay and an additional brick bay added beyond the stack. The framing consists of three panels high with corner braces. There is a door located in a 20th-century glazed porch. The windows are timber casements, and a leaded dormer has been incorporated into the raising of the front wall. The right gable has been rebuilt in brick, and there is a later lean-to, which may have replaced a former service bay. The roof is half hipped.
