Description
Wycombe Cottage is a house dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is timber framed with brick noggings and brickwork, featuring Bridgewater and plain tiled roofs. The building has two storeys and consists of four bays, with a single storey cross wing at the south end. The central block has three bays and a large central stack, originally timber framed, with the central bay having a timber framed gable that has been inserted into the earlier frame. This gable features a moulded jetty beam, corbels, and ogee braces of late 16th century style. The remainder of the central block has been significantly altered, with a timber door leading to a lobby opposite the stack and a living room to the right. The left bay is a taller two-storey 19th century brick addition. At the lower right end, there is a single storey timber framed cross wing, which has been infilled with 19th century brickwork. The roof is half hipped. The interior is not accessible and may hold interest.
