Description

This description is for a pair of large vases located on square plinths, which are situated next to the Georgian Boathouse at the head of Fonthill Lake in Fonthill Bishop. These vases date from the early 19th century and were likely created for George Mortimer. They are made of limestone and serve as landscape features at either end of a causeway that crosses the north end of the lake, positioned to the west of the bridge.
