Description
27 and 28 The Ring are two semi-detached cottages dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed from limestone rubble stone and feature a concrete tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. The cottages are single storey with an attic and have three windows, all of which are casements.
The central planked door of No 28 is set in a chamfered stone case, flanked by three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements on either side. There are three full gabled attic dormers, each with 3-light mullioned casements beside two-light mullioned casements. The right return has a three-light mullioned casement on the first floor and a single casement in the attic.
Attached to the left is a single storey wing that has two 2-light mullioned casements and a half-hipped roof. The gable end features a 20th-century porch with a 2-light mullioned casement above, while the main range has a blocked single window. At the rear, there is another single storey wing with a mullioned casement and a half-hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
