Description
29 and 30 The Ring are two semi-detached cottages dating from the late 17th century. They are constructed of dressed limestone with a concrete tiled roof and feature gable end brick stacks. The cottages are arranged in an L-plan and are two stories high with four windows.
The entrance to No 29 is a planked door set in a chamfered stone case, located to the left of center. Flanking the door are three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements, with a larger three-light mullioned casement to the right. On the first floor, there are three three-light and one two-light mullioned casements. The right return of the building has a single chamfered light extending over three floors, while the rear wing includes a gabled porch for No 30 and a two-light mullioned casement. The left return has a blocked chamfered light in the attic.
Inside No 29, there is a chamfered beam with exposed joists and an open fireplace featuring a chamfered lintel with jewel stops set on stone jambs.
