Description
Nos 11, 11A, and 12 on Bridewell Street are 17th to 18th century buildings that stand two storeys high with an attic. No 11 has been rough cast, while The Grange retains its red brick stone plinth and stone quoins. The buildings feature a gable end tiled roof with four hipped dormers, which have 19th century casements and tiled roofs, with slate cheeks replacing the original stone tiles. There is a wood eaves band along the roofline.
On the first floor, there are four recessed three-light casements. The ground floor has three paired 19th century sash windows with segmental heads, and the ground floor windows feature segmental painted stone arches and keystones. The central door is a 19th century Gothic arched and studded design set in a plain stone surround, while there is a plain cottage door to the left at No 11. Rectangular cellar grills are also present.
Nos 1 to 13 on this side of the street form a group.
