Group Of 7 Large Family Monuments, In Churchyard, 20 Metres South Of South Trancept, Church Of St Mary

A group of seven large family monuments, dating from the early 19th century, is located in the churchyard, 20 meters south of the south transept of the Church of St. Mary. These sandstone chest tombs are arranged in two rows.

In the east row, the first monument features a hipped top, a moulded table and base, and recessed corner balusters, with an inscription dedicated to Mary Smith (née Hill), who died in 1845. The second is similar and commemorates Thomas Hill, who died in 1842. The third has Gothic corner pilasters and is inscribed to James Large, who died in 1878, along with his family.

In the west row, the first monument has a moulded table and base, with an inscription within a wide Gothic arch for the six daughters of Thomas Seaty, who died in the mid-19th century. The next features a moulded table and base with recessed corner balusters, inscribed in a moulded panel to Robert Sheppard, who died in 1832. The following monument has a moulded table and base with Gothic corner pilasters and an inscription in a wide cusped arch for Thomas Large, who died in 1855, and his wife. The final monument is similar to the previous one and commemorates James Sadler Large, who died in 1838, and his wife.
