Description
Nos 88, 89, and 89A on High Street in Purton are 18th-century buildings that have been converted into two shops. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and raised quoins, featuring three bays with one wide central bay that is set forward. This central bay originally had a round-headed door and window with quoined jambs and turned heads, but the window has been replaced with a 20th-century shop window. A moulded string course forms the sills for the first-floor windows, which are 12-pane sashes, with the central window being a symmetrical 8-pane light. The building has a moulded cornice and a low parapet, with a gable over the central bay that contains a rectangular window. There are end stacks, and at the rear, there is a long late 19th-century wing with a side entrance and stack.
