Description

Nos 9, 11, 15, and 15A on Fore Street are a late 18th century to early 19th century red brick terrace building that stands two storeys tall. The terrace features a pantile roof and two brick ridge chimneys. Number 9 has two glazing bar sash windows on the first floor and a shop front on the ground floor consisting of two windows and two doors, which are accented by pilaster strips and a modillion cornice above a continuous fascia. Number 11 is accessed through the right-hand door of the shop front and has two three-light casement windows on the first floor, along with a three-light window on the ground floor to the left, featuring round-headed lights and a central sash under a segmental arch. There is a segmental arch to the right that is now partially blocked, with a doorway leading to a small window. Numbers 15 and 15A project slightly from Number 11, creating a pleasing pair. On the first floor, there are three windows: the outer ones are five-light and the centre one is two-light, all with plate glass sashes that have stone mullions and beaded edges. Number 15 has been altered on the ground floor, featuring a twin plate glass sash with a wooden mullion, while Number 15A retains its three-light ground floor window. Both properties have paired doorways with moulded stone brackets supporting a moulded flat hood. The bracket and hood of Number 15 are later additions, with a separate late 19th century doorway.
