Description

The buildings at 14 and 15 Doggetts Lane date to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. They face west and are set back with a small open space in front. The front is of colour-washed brick, which may have refaced a timber-framed structure, although this isn't visible inside. The roof is covered with old tiles. The upper floor has three-light windows, with a central two-light window; No. 14 retains its original glazing bars, with a sash window in the centre, while No. 15 has modern casements. The ground floor has two three-light casements. A central ledged door is set in a plain frame, and a similar door to the left is set in a later addition. The buildings were originally a single house. Side walls are partly constructed of rubble. A chamfered corner exists on the east side, and the west side wall is angled. The roof retains angle braces, potentially for a dragon beam.
