Description
The White Lion Public House is a late 18th-century building located in Westbury Market Place. It is two storeys high with an attic and features painted stucco with side piers. The roof is covered with old tiles, hipped to the right, and has two brick ridge chimneys. The building has three symmetrical gabled dormers that contain 19th-century casement windows. On the first floor, there are two three-light sash windows flanking a central single light, while the ground floor has two similar three-light sash windows flanking a central doorcase. All windows have had their glazing bars removed. The doorcase is made of wood and has a wide panelled architrave surround with corner blocks, a small frieze, and a moulded cornice. Although the original door has been removed, a five-paned rectangular fanlight remains, and a modern door has been inserted inside.
