Description
No. 23 Market Place is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high and continues the roof-line of Nos. 20-22. The exterior is rendered and designed to resemble ashlar stone. It features a tiled roof with a brick chimney at the gable end on the right side. A brick modillion cornice adds detail to the top of the building. On the first floor, there are two wide spaced glazing bar sash windows with timber lintels. The ground floor has two 20th-century shop fronts that are connected by a common fascia, with two half-glazed doors positioned in the center. At the rear, there is a two-storey gabled extension that showcases timberwork in the gable.
