Description

The road boundary wall to Pewsey Hospital Grounds was built between 1840 and 1850. It is made of limestone ashlar and features chamfered copings. The end pier has a large cavetto cornice and a weathered cap. The wall stands 1.68 meters high, gradually decreasing to 1.12 meters, and stretches a total length of 84 meters, returning to the gate of the lodge. It also includes a flush cast-iron post box from around 1930, made by Derby Castings Limited. This wall is included for its significance alongside other buildings of Pewsey Hospital.
