Description

The Pewsey Hospital Roundhouse, originally part of a mental defectives' colony, is a lodge to a workhouse that now serves as nurses' accommodation for the hospital. Built around 1840 to 1850, it is constructed of ashlar limestone and features an asbestos slate roof. The building is two storeys tall and has an octagonal shape, with two single-storey wings at the rear. Full-height pilasters are positioned at the corners, leading up to timber boxed eaves. The entrance includes a door and 20th-century metal windows, along with brick flues that terminate at the apex of the roof.
