Description

A pair of semi-detached cottages, dating to the mid-19th century, forming part of a larger group of 17 cottages situated on both sides of the road. The cottages are constructed of limestone rubble, with triple-Roman tile roofs and two diagonally-set moulded brick ridge stacks. They are built in a vernacular revival style, with single-unit plans and rear outshuts and extensions.

The cottages are single-storey with gabled half dormers leading to an attic. The front elevation has a three-window range and three forward-facing gables, the central one slightly larger. Paired wide semicircular arches, originally porches, are set in a slightly recessed panel and filled with 20th-century doors, incorporating continuous tiled weathering. The ground-floor windows are of 20th-century design, with segmental arches. Single-storey canted bays, featuring hipped stone slate roofs to the returns, are also present. The interior of the cottages was not inspected.
