Description

The terrace at 29-31 Hilperton Road dates to approximately 1827. It is a two-story building with an attic, constructed of Bath ashlar with a draughted central bay. A projecting plinth band runs above the ground floor. The facade originally had three windows, with the outer two set in slight recesses. The windows are glazing bar sashes with raised surrounds and shallow triangular heads; the ground-floor windows to the left and right are grouped in threes. A central canted bay features French windows. The roof is slate-covered, with projecting eaves, stone chimneys, and a central gabled dormer. Number 29 has a modern two-story extension to the right, containing an entrance. Number 30 is entered to the right of the bay, and has a three-bay return with a central entrance leading to Number 31. The terrace is part of a group with numbers 27-33 and the street wall in front.
