Description

FORE STREET 1. 5411 (North West Side) No 73 (formerly listed as No 74) ST 8558 4/80 29.12.50. II GV

  1. C18 front. 2 storey and attic. Painted stucco. Projecting plinth. Flat eaves. Stone tile roof. 1 dormer. 2 off ridge brick chimneys. Lead rain water hopper in angle with No 8 Wicker Hill. (qv). 2 windows in raised surrounds, no glazing bars, on 1st floor. 1 similar window on ground floor, and 6-panel door to lefthand with plain rectangular fanlight in raised stone surround and cut scroll brackets supporting flat stone hood with modillioned soffit, a curious design. The main bulk of the house is set behind No 8 Wicker Hill. Pitched paving to front. Back of house part brick (English bond); 2 tall brick stacks set in gables. 2 raised window surrounds remain, 1 for paired 1st floor window and 1 for a similar window (with lost mullion) on around floor.

Nos 65 to 68 (consec), Nos 70 to 73 (consec), railings and gates to Nos 68 and 70, dwarf stone wall to No 72, No 64 (Lloyds Bank) and Usher's Brewery Corner Block, form an outstanding group with No 8 and premises occupied by K.J. Lestor to south west of No 8 Wicker Hill.
