Description

Lake House is a detached house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of English bond brick, with a Welsh slate hipped roof and brick stacks. The house has a gable end facing the street and is rectangular in plan, featuring two storeys and three windows to the front. The central entrance has a six-panelled door within a moulded case with a cornice. Flanked on either side are 12-pane sash windows, each with wooden shutters and flat arches. A verandah, supported by wrought iron, runs the full length of the front. The first floor has three sashes. The right return elevation has two windows to each floor; the left-hand windows are blind, while the right-hand windows have sashes with ground floor shutters. The rear of the house features segmental arched casements on the first floor, and an outshut with an inserted door on the ground floor. The interior was inaccessible during a survey in July 1984.
