Description
The memorial and water trough on The Green was built in 1902 by engineers Merryweather and Sons from London. It is made of limestone ashlar and features a pyramidal tiled roof with a finial. The structure is rectangular and includes a stone plinth, a granite water trough, and an inscription panel on the west side, along with a bench on the east side. At the corners, there are paired 12th-century columns with chevron capitals that were sourced from the site of the Augustinian priory at Ivychurch. The building has a chamfered cornice beneath deep eaves. It was erected by the parish to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII and to show appreciation to the Earl of Radnor of Longford Castle for providing the water supply.
