Description
Rose Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features square panelled timber-framing with straight bracing set on a brick plinth, while the rear wall is constructed of late 18th century Flemish garden wall bond brickwork. The cottage has a hipped thatched roof and a brick chimney. It is a three-bay structure, consisting of a single storey with an attic and has two windows. The right bay contains a glazed door, with 20th-century casement windows to the left and one casement window in the dormer. The left side has slightly heavier timber-framing. At the rear, there are three cast iron casements and two dormers in the roof. This cottage was part of the Longford Castle Estate and was renovated around 1950.
