Description
Old Timbers is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features square panelled timber-framing with straight bracing and brick infill, and herringbone brickwork on the upper storey. The cottage has a thatched half-hipped roof and brick stacks. It consists of three unequal bays of timber-framing, with an additional brick bay to the left. The building is single storey with an attic and has four windows. There is a door to the left of centre in a chamfered shouldered case. All windows are cast iron casements from a renovation around 1950, including four casements that are half in the roof. The right return and rear have the same windows. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in July 1984. The cottage underwent renovation by Longford Castle Estate.
