Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage built around 1840. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a hipped roof made of Welsh slate, with brick stacks at each end. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows. The entrance is located in a central castellated porch that has a hood mould. On either side of the door, there are cast iron casements that also have hood moulds and flat arches made of brick. The first floor includes cast iron casements flanking a central circular window, which has cast iron glazing bars. The building has a toothed brick cornice and deep eaves, while the returns of the cottage do not have any windows. Yew Tree Cottage is noted for being a well-designed example of an estate cottage in the village, and it can be compared to Cherry Tree Cottage nearby.
