Description

This is a 17th-century detached cottage located on the north side of Lights Lane in Alderbury. The cottage is built with square-panelled timber framing and painted brick infill, topped with a thatched hipped roof and brick stacks. It has two bays and is single-storied with an attic. There are two windows visible from the front. A 20th-century door is located on the right return, leading to the ground floor, with a cast iron casement. The left return has a gable end to the road and is tile-hung, featuring one casement on both the ground and attic floors. The rear of the cottage, which faces Folly Lane, has two cast iron casements on both floors. A gabled brick extension, added by the Longford Castle Estate around 1950, is situated to the right of the front of the cottage; the original cottage was renovated at the same time. The interior has not been inspected.
