Description

Chandlers is a house dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and following a fire around 1970. It is constructed of timber framing and whitewashed brick, with a 20th-century concrete tiled roof featuring barge boards. The house is originally single-storey with an attic, but was raised to two storeys. The facade is divided into sections: a timber-framed bay containing the entrance, two brick bays, and two timber-framed bays on the right, which incorporate a chimney stack. The timber framing is two panels high, and includes timber detailing from former flush dormers that have been incorporated into the raised eaves. A 20th-century entrance door with a glazed panel is centrally placed. Various 19th-century three-light timber casement windows are present, along with 20th-century extensions to the rear.
