Description

Wreay Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Easton Royal. It features a timber frame with brick noggings and a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of four bays. The central two bays include an entrance in the narrower left bay and a main living hall to the right. Brick bays have been added to both ends, and there is an outshut with a tiled roof that runs almost the full length of the rear. The framing consists of three panels high with corner braces. The main entrance is now located in the outshut, while the original main entrance is in the southern timber bay under a thatched canopy. The cottage has 19th-century timber casement windows, with those on the ground floor featuring segmental-headed openings. There are four flush dormers on the front, one on the left gable, and two at the rear. A 20th-century brick stack is present on the rear wall of the principal room.
