Description
Appledore and No. 54 are a pair of cottages located on the east side of Easton Royal, dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. They are timber framed but have been refaced in brick in two stages, likely during the late 18th or early 19th century. Both cottages feature thatched roofs. The left cottage, No. 54, consists of two bays with an outshut and a stack located on the right party wall of the main room. Appledore also has two bays, with a central stack and an entrance in the left bay, along with an added outshut. No. 54 has a four-panelled door within a timber porch, while Appledore features a boarded door and a timber porch on its gable end. The cottages have two and three-light paned timber windows and a dormer at the rear. The roof is hipped to the right. The interior has not been seen but may hold some interest.
