Description

Wayside Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage situated end on to the road in Winterbourne Dauntsey. It is constructed of flint with some dispersed brick and chalk blocks, featuring brick quoins and dressings, and has a thatched roof. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of two bays. It has a lobby entry plan, with a 20th-century half-glazed door and a thatched canopy, along with 19th-century three-light timber casement windows. The ground floor has segmental headed openings. A central brick stack with drip courses and four flues is present, and the gable is half-hipped and rendered on timber framing.
