Description
No. 48 High Street is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick with scattered vitrified headers and features a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and has two bays that are approximately square in shape. There is a 20th-century bathroom extension on the north side. The entrance is located in the gable end and is accessed through a glazed porch, which leads directly into the living room. There is an inner room beyond the living room. To the left of the door, there is a 19th-century window, while a 20th-century replacement window is found on the south side. The south side and west gable have flush dormers. The roof is steep and nearly pyramid-shaped, with a lateral stack serving the living room. Historic elements are not visible from the interior.
