Description

ATWORTH LITTLE CHALFIELD ST 86 NE (west side) 4/66 Barn with mill wheel to south east of Little Chalfield Manor GV II

Barn. Probably early C19. Rubble stone, stone slate roof with coped verges. Five bays. Hipped porch on south side with corrugated iron doors, shuttered loft door over. To right is cast- iron water wheel, mill race runs under porch. Left return has two planked doors. Rear has large opening with smaller door to left. Cast-iron waterwheel retained on south wall to right of porch. Five-bay roof of king post trusses with raking struts, mill machinery missing.
