5/60 The Old Beer House at The Manor House

GV II

Outhouse, probably for brewing or baking. Late C17. Rubble stone, stone slate roof with stone stack to left gable end and to rear. Single-storey. Central planked door with 3-light mullioned casement with fillet mouldings to left, hoodmould carried up over door, hipped dormer with 2-light wooden casement to right. Right return has two 2-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds and large sash to first floor. Rear has two 2-light mullioned casements and gabled stack to left. Built as one of a pair of matching outbuildings (q.v. The Stable), linked by wall with gate piers.
