Description

The Old Beer House at The Manor House is an outhouse, likely used for brewing or baking, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with a stone stack on the left gable end and at the rear. The building is single-storey with a central planked door. To the left of the door is a three-light mullioned casement with fillet mouldings, and above the door is a hoodmould that extends upwards. On the right side, there is a hipped dormer with a two-light wooden casement. The right return has two two-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds, along with a large sash window on the first floor. The rear of the building includes two two-light mullioned casements and a gabled stack to the left. This structure was built as one of a pair of matching outbuildings, linked by a wall with gate piers, the other being The Stable.
