Description
The Old Beer House and attached former chapel is a house and chapel that now serves as an outbuilding. It was built in the early 18th century and in 1838. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels, featuring concrete plain-tile and Welsh-slate roofs, along with rubble-and-brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan plus a chapel range and is two storeys tall with an attic.
The left bay of the front has four windows and a lower roof. It includes a three-light casement window at the ground floor, a two-light casement at the first floor, and the entrance. The higher range features two-light casements at the first floor and windows with three, one, and two lights below. The higher roof has gable stacks. To the right, there is a low outbuilding that connects to the slated chapel, which has two tall windows with rubble flat arches. The right gable wall of the chapel is inscribed with "BETHEL/CHAPEL/1838" above a flat-arched doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
