Description
Nos 68 and 70 on High Street are a pair of 18th-century houses constructed from roughcast rubble stone, topped with a pantiled roof. The roof features a coped gable at the south end, along with a ridge stack and a stack at the north end. The buildings are two storeys high and have gabled ends facing the road.
No 68 has a two-light mullion window with a hoodmould on the first floor of the end wall, and a casement window along with a two-light cyma-moulded flush mullion window on the first floor of the east front. The ground floor features casement windows on either side of a fielded four-panel door, which is topped with a hood supported by brackets. The right window on the ground floor has a hoodmould.
No 70, located to the right, has an unmoulded two-light window on brackets on the first floor. The north end wall of this house includes a two-light cyma-moulded flush mullion window with a hoodmould. The pair is included for their group value.
