Description

This is an early 19th-century milestone located in a wall about 8 meters east of the entrance to Masons in Grittleton. The milestone features an affixed cast-iron plate that is rectangular with a curved top. It is inscribed with the distances to Christian Malford (7 miles), Pucklech (11 miles), and Bristol (18 miles).
