Description

The gate piers and overthrow of Nos 21 and 21A are located in The Close and date from 1594. They consist of two stone octagonal gate piers positioned directly opposite the front entrance. The piers are topped with a very fine 18th-century wrought iron scrolled overthrow and lamp holder. The gates themselves are plain. These features contribute to the outstanding group of listed buildings in The Close.
